Hello,
I'm running a Fujitsu Primergy MX130 S2.
With:
AMD Opteron 3280 8x 2.4GHZ
32GB DDR3
2x HDD SATA 2 RPM 7200
Onboard graphic from AMD 880G chipset (ATI HD4250).
I'm running Windows 2008 Server Web Edition
I'm trying to setup multiple VM's with Windows XP as guest (about 512mb ram each but I could expand since I have plenty free RAM) to run an application that require 3d accelaration/direct3d.
I can run one VM without issues, the problem is when I had two VMs and the 3d application is running. After a while the console screen is all black, and only restarting I could see what is happening.
Does the Graphic onboard limits the performance to run multiple vm's?
I tried to setup vmworkstation 8 on ubuntu however the drivers of this ATI HD4250 are not compatible with VMworkstation (not even start).
